Avoid The Junk Mail BoxYour email newsletter is a great way to keep your congregation informed and connected with what's going on at your church. The challenge however is how do you keep your email from ending up in the junk folder of people's email boxes? Spam is a huge problem for most people so most internet service providers have implemented spam filtering software to try and decide what email is legitimate and from the many junk emails that get sent every day.

Spam filtering software attempts to determine what email is good or bad based on many different factors such as the title of the email, the phrases and amount of text content, number of images and more.

So how do you know what works and what doesn't?

Some of it is good old experience but there's a tool that we ran across that is much more accurate at determing if your email is going to be flagged as spam or not before you send it. The FREE spam score tool from SiteSell.com allows you to enter your subject line, from address and content and it will give you a detailed report of potential issues with your email such as too many images vs. text, phrases that spammers use often that you should avoid and many other factors.

So, before you send your next email newsletter, give it a quick, free run through at spamcheck.sitesell.com.
